We can't do everything but we do everything we can.
"Love others!" Jesus summed up all of God's commandments in only two: To love God, and love your neighbor as yourself. This is what we call the "Law of Love." We can and should fulfill the Law of Love by going out of our way to help others. Jesus said. "Who is my neighbour?" they asked Him. And with the story of the Good Samaritan, He tried to show them that it is anyone who needs our help, regardless of their race, creed, colour, nationality, or condition!
We try to give people the scriptural foundation and understanding of the basic principles of the Law of Love, that they should love God and love others. The main purpose of this is to motivate them to put love into action in their daily lives by reaching out to the needy. Another aim is to inspire people to fulfill their God-given responsibilities regarding giving and helping others.
At Street Ministries, our full time missionary volunteers work on:
Feeding the homeless -- Each week we distribute hundreds of pounds of food to the homeless, low income families who have a hard time making ends meet and some of the local missions that feed and house the homeless.
Visiting the elderly -- Twice as month we visit a local Care Home with elderly residents. We spend time reading spiritual passages and singing Gospel songs to lift the spirits of these that sometimes have no family or friends. We sometimes perform uplifting puppet shows to make them laugh and smile. For some of the residents, it's the only light they see during there mundane daily routine.
Hitting the Street -- We go everywhere, spreading the Truth of the Gospel, door to door, shop to shop, trucks stops, downtown to where a lot of lost people are just wandering around aimlessly, looking for answers. We stop anyone on the street and try to compel them to come in by sharing God's love in Jesus.
Teach Bible classes -- We teach from an available complete curriculum that starts out with the basics and goes through the advanced classes of the Bible. It is called "The 12 Foundation Stones"
Counseling -- We are available 24/7 as spiritual counselors, walking people through their current problems when they call us or email us. Some examples of these problems are; domestic disputes or marriage problems, drug or alcohol abuse, coping with loss of a loved one, depression, suicide and any other problems that they may be experiencing. We simply and lovingly give them the spiritual answers from God's Word that they need to work through anything.
We also have a sister home of missionaries that are very active in Guinea, West Africa, called "Change The World" They have set up a school and are working with about 125 orphaned children. They also minister to outlying provinces, bringing them the Gospel, clothes, food, and basic necessities. If you would like to help their work, please contact us.
This is only a summary of the things we have been doing here at Street Ministries since 1999 and will continue to do this and more with God's and your help, showing His love to the world. Changing our part of the world, one heart at a time. Thank you.
